MUSIC AT RAB

Music is a highly valued part of life at RAB.  We are delighted to have our own specialist music teacher, Mrs Brown, whose enthusiasm inspires all our children and staff to really enjoy musical opportunities and to fill the school with singing.  Our children all have singing assemblies each week and a focussed composer of the week.  As well as a very engaging and challenging curriculum, our children are offered the opportunity to learn a wide range of musical instruments either as part of whole class musical tuition, small group lessons and individual lessons with peripatetic music tutors.

PERIPATETIC MUSIC TEACHERS

We have a number of peripatetic music tutors who visit the school and you can arrange music lessons for your Junior School children. We currently have tutors teaching drums, brass, violin, guitar, woodwind and ukulele. For information please ask at the school desk.  Recorder and ukulele lessons are available from Reception upwards.

choirs

We have two active RAB Voice Choirs open to all children.

Our choir has had a very busy year performing on a number of occasions, including the Spirit of Christmas Concert at St Mary’s Church, the school's Christmas Carols also at the church, as well as to residents of local old people's homes and school music concerts.  Taking part in the Young Voices Choir at the O2 is a regular feature of our curriculum offer for KS2 children.

orchestra

Our orchestra is open to all instrument players and we encourage everyone to join.  It is run by Mr Meyrick, one of our peripatetic music teachers.
